Success in residential construction is built through consistent effort, collaboration, and long-term commitment. That approach continues to move projects forward and strengthen communities.

This persistence has led to a major outcome: effective April 1, 2026, Ontario will temporarily remove HST on new homes up to $1 million, with scaled relief up to $1.85 million for one year—reducing costs for buyers and supporting housing supply.

In most recent news federal and Ontario governments have announced a plan to reduce municipal development charges by up to 50% over the next three years, supported by significant infrastructure funding. While details—including which municipalities will be affected—have not yet been confirmed, the intent is to lower upfront building costs and accelerate housing supply.

The Brantford Home Builders’ Association (BHBA) has focused on stronger communication, increased digital presence, and ongoing member and community engagement. Advocacy remains central, including work with the City of Brantford on development charges, and collaboration with the County of Brant and Grand River Conservation Authority.

Upcoming events include:

  • April 8: City of Brantford session (Best Western)
  • April 29: County of Brant virtual Lunch & Learn
  • May 13: Supplier Night (Best Western)
  • June 18: Golf Tournament (Walter Gretzky Municipal Golf Course)

BHBA also recognizes its 2026 Corporate Partners for their continued support.

The message remains: industry strength comes from collective commitment—call a member first.
