Executive Officer Fred DeCator receives the “David Horton Leadership Award” from OHBA President Mike Memme
I take this opportunity as I send you this last Newsletter that I will prepare to thank you for allowing me to be your Executive Officer for the past 35 years. I have had the privilege of working with fantastic presidents and board members during this time and would even go so far as to consider them not only members but friends.
There are so many special moments in the 35 years that I would do a disservice to some of them if I tried to put them all in this last note. There are just too many for the space.
It does not seem possible that 35 years have passed so quickly, but that is the way time works. When you are doing something you love time really has no meaning.
I have enjoyed attending the Provincial and Federal level OHBA and CHBA Conferences and have seen this wonderful country from coast to coast and met many wonderful people along the way.
I am not leaving the Association as your board has retained me to act as Treasurer/Bookkeeper so will continue to do your invoicing and receive your payments throughout the years to come. I will also be exercising my long standing Honourary Life Membership to attend meetings.
As I stated at the Retirement Dinner. The Association as a whole is poised for some great things in the future and I wish you well as they are brought to life. As always there will be some bumps in the road, but you have had them before and you will have them again. You are strong and will overcome the obstacles. Keep your stick on the ice and all will be good.
I wish you well in the future and leave you in good hands with your new Executive Officer Angela DeVries.
Sincerely
Fred Decator
Executive Officer
