What a fantastic turnout for our Joint Membership Meeting with the Haldimand Norfolk Home Builders’ Association at the Erie Beach Hotel in Port Dover on October 14!
It was a packed house and a wonderful evening of networking, catching up with industry colleagues and strengthening the connections between our two associations.
We were pleased to welcome Curtis Mercer, President of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA), who shared an impressive recap of CHBA’s accomplishments and advocacy efforts over the past year.
CHBA has been instrumental in advancing important housing issues at the federal level, including GST relief for first-time buyers of new homes and continued advocacy for reductions in development charges. Their work also continues to focus on housing affordability, reducing regulatory barriers and supporting the skilled trades.
Sam Bunting, representing HNHBA, and Jayne Smillie, 1st Vice-President of BHBA, also addressed those in attendance.
A big thank you to Curtis for joining us, to our friends at HNHBA for partnering with us, and to everyone who came out and made the evening such a success!
Events like this remind us of the value of coming together, sharing ideas and building a stronger home building industry.
