As we move through the start of 2026, I want to thank our members for your continued commitment to building strong communities across Brantford and the County of Brant. Your resilience, professionalism, and collaboration are what keep our industry moving forward.

bobcat of brantfordWe kicked off the year with our first BHBA event of 2026 — a Member Mingle & Chili Night hosted at Bobcat of Brantford. It was a fun, engaging evening and a great reminder of the value of getting together in person.

I’m also pleased to share that we’ve revamped our website, and our social media presence is growing quickly — our following has tripled since December as we’ve increased consistency and engagement. If you haven’t followed along yet, please do — and keep sharing BHBA updates within your networks.

ADVOCACY & MEMBER UPDATES

  • Development Charges (DC) Credit Agreement – City of Brantford:
BHBA worked with local builders to ensure our DC Credit Agreement feedback package was submitted to the City of Brantford on January 30, 2026. Our submission included a marked-up version of the draft agreement and a technical memo outlining recommended revisions to support clarity and alignment.
  • “Build Brantford” Industry Luncheon – Tickets & Sponsorship:
Our 36th Annual Build Brantford event is coming up fast and tickets are selling quickly. This is also an excellent opportunity to advertise your company in front of a strong local audience by sponsoring. Please reach out to EO Jennifer Stuart if you’d like to be featured.
  • HST on New Homes – What You Can Do:
The OHBA and CHBA continue to advocate for the government to temporarily remove the HST on all new homes to help restart housing momentum. We encourage members to write to your MP and MPP, as BHBA has done. If you’d like support, EO Jennifer Stuart can provide a letter template — please reach out to her for a copy.
  • Save the Date –Upcoming Member Event: RBC Economic Update (Virtual BYOL)
Grab your lunch and log in for our virtual BYOL meeting on February 11 at 12:00 PM. We’ll be joined by Rachel Battaglia from RBC for a timely Economic Update and discussion on trends impacting our industry. Invitations were already sent out.  If you didn’t get yours ask EO Jennifer Stuart for another one

Thank you again for being active, engaged members. Let’s keep pushing forward — together.

“Call a Member First.”
